KARMAudio - automatic loudness control
KARMAudio is eyeheight's solution for automatic perceptual loudness control based on ITU-R BS.1770 multi-channel perceptual loudness and true peak measurement and sophisticated proprietary correction algorithms. KARMAudio products make it easy for users to comply with emerging loudness practices such as ATSC A/85:2009/2011 (as required by S.2847), EBU R 128-2011 and short-term peak loudness (e.g. UK BCAP rule 4.7) requirements.
KARMAudioAU for Final Cut is an OS X native Audio Unit plug-in compatible with Final Cut, Soundtrack Pro and any application which supports Audio Units. KARMAudioAU analyzes stereo and multi-channel audio content using ITU-R BS.1770-1 or ITU-R BS.1770-2/EBU R 128-2011 (-10LU relative gate) and then applies a global gain value to bring the audio precisely to the the target loudness. By applying a global gain adjustment the target loudness is matched whilst maintaining the full dynamic range of the original source audio. KARMAudioAU for Final Cut also performs true-peak limiting based on ITU-R BS.1770 true peak estimation algorithm and a proprietary true-peak control algorithm to ensure the final output does not exceed peak-program level limits in the true-peak domain.
With KARMAudioAU Final Cut users can ensure loudness and peak-program level compliance in seconds and in combination with complianceSuiteFC deliver fully compliant video and audio content direct from the Final Cut time-line to tape or playout server.
As of KARMAudioAU v1.1.91 (complianceSuiteFC v1.18) KARMAudioAU is fully compliant with the latest ITU-R BS.1770-2 and EBU R 128-2011 loudness measurement specifications and provides a log output of pre-correction loudness levels and corrective action taken.

LE-2-K Real-time hardware loudness control and video gamut legalisation
The new -K option for the LE-2 family of video legalisers adds KARMAudioRT embedded audio loudness and peak-program level control to industry leading RGB, composite or combined composite and RGB video legalisation. Now users can ensure video gamut, loudness and peak-program level compliance with a single cost-effective card.
The KARMAudioRT algorithm in the LE-2-K continuously monitors the stereo or multi-channel embedded audio loudness using ITU-R BS.1770 loudness and true peak measurement algorithms and applies instantaneous correction to ensure that loudness limit and peak-program level limits are enforced.
